Where I live, it's so so so hot. When I was new here (first year college), I got sunburned just by walking around without an umbrella. I was actually quite naive and thought I was getting healthier because my cheeks suddenly had a natural flush in them. To my surprise, the skin on my face started peeling off. Obviously, I needed to do something to protect myself from the sun.
And because I just
sucked in budgeting my allowance, I can't seem to buy myself a decent lotion with sunblock. Hence the whole of my college years, I had dark and dry skin! Not exactly a pretty sight to look at.
But when I finally came to my senses and realized how important it is to use sunblock, I started trying out different products. Finally, I came across this product.
Vaseline Healthy White SPF 24 Triple Protection
Why I like it :
Cheapest lotion from a reliable brand with a decent amount(?) of spf. Ok I actually forgot the exact price. But the 100ml bottle costs somewhere between 100 and 200pesos.
Vaseline Healthy White SPF 24 Triple Protection is not sticky! Some lotions with SPF feels like you're putting melted rubber on your skin. It is not so with this one.
Vaseline Healthy White SPF 24 Triple Protection has no strong smell.
It has vitamin B3. I think this is supposed to help lighten up the skin. As for the lightening effect, I think this did this job because I don't see my tan lines anymore. It also helped in making skin look healthier.
Has both UVA and UVB protection. Now this is what I like most about this product. UVB(SPF 24) keeps you from getting darker. UVA(PA++) keeps skin from getting wrinkles and cancer.
Why I don't like it:
Can't find a reason not to like it!
Will I repurchase?
Of course! I can't remember how many bottles of this I finished already. Even now, I have three: one in my cabinet with my clothes, the other one in the drawer of my study table and the third one inside my bag.
Vaseline also have a water-resistant version!
This one has spf 30. It is also a bit stickier because it's water resistant, but not so much to be a bother.
By the way, water resistant is different from water-proof. Water resistant products aren't made to last when you actually swim. It's made to be used during activities where you sweat a lot, like when you are on a tour or you're on the beach but have no plans of plunging in.
This product also gets a rating of:
This is a bit more expensive compared to the other variant. It's costs a bit more than 200 pesos I think. Nevertheless, I'll still repurchase this.
So for this summer, if you don't have a decent sunblock lotion yet, try this two:
What about you?
What product can you simply not live without this summer?
